Getting everyone together for a girls’ night out often feels like an achievement in itself. Between busy diaries, different budgets and a group chat full of suggestions, settling on a plan can take longer than the night itself…
But whether you are celebrating a birthday, organising a long-overdue catch-up or simply looking for an excuse to get dressed up, OEC Sheffield has a packed calendar of music, comedy and themed events to help you plan something everyone will enjoy!
What are the best girls’ night ideas?
The best girls’ night ideas include tribute shows, live comedy, themed parties, immersive experiences and creative activities. When choosing what to do, consider your group’s interests, budget and whether you would prefer a relaxed evening, live entertainment or a night spent on the dance floor.
With everything arranged in advance, an organised event can also take away some of the usual planning. All that is left to do is get the date in the diary and decide who is booking the taxi.
Sing along to your favourite music
A brilliant playlist can turn a simple night out in Sheffield into one that the group talks about for months. OEC Sheffield has several events for those who enjoy singing along to familiar favourites, starting with the Madonna, Tina & Cher Tribute on 11th September.
From 25th to 27th September, Mamma Mia: The Immersive Experience invites audiences into the feel-good world of the much-loved musical. Later in the year, Grease vs Dirty Dancing brings two classic films together on 10th October, while the Pink Lunch on 11th October features tribute artist Vicky Jackson.
Fans of music from previous decades can also enjoy the 70s Tribute Show on 2nd October or Motown & Soul on 23rd October.
Try girls’ night activities with a difference
Dinner and drinks will always have their place, but sometimes the best girls’ night activities are those you have not tried before.
On 12th September, Drink and Draw combines art, laughter and a few drinks for a creative evening that does not take itself too seriously. There is no need to be an accomplished artist, making it an easy choice for mixed groups.
For something even more unexpected, pull on your boots for Yeehaw Bingo on 16th October or experience an evening of comedy, games and entertainment at Halloween Comedy Drag Bingo on 30th October. A festive edition will also take place on 22nd November, offering a lively alternative to the usual Christmas gathering.
Enjoy comedy and live entertainment
There are also two dedicated Ladies Night events to choose from. The first takes place on 9th October, followed by a Christmas edition on 20th November. Both are designed for groups ready to let their hair down and enjoy an evening of entertainment together.
Dress up and hit the dance floor
Halloween brings an opportunity to dress for the occasion. The Halloween 80s Party on 31st October combines dining, dancing and nostalgic music. Once the festive season begins, the Jingle Bell Disco runs on selected dates from 21st November to 21st December, while Back to the 80s takes over OEC Sheffield on 28th November.
How do you plan a girls’ night out?
A little organisation can make the evening much easier for everyone:
- Agree on a date and budget before choosing an event.
- Confirm numbers and collect payment by a clear deadline.
- Check what is included with each ticket.
- Share any dietary requirements when booking.
- Arrange transport and decide on a meeting point.
- Reserve early, particularly for larger groups and seasonal events.
